With growing number of digital devices such as video cameras as well as televisions, recorders, game consoles and even car navigation devices supporting SD memory cards, size of memory card connector is playing a major role, by providing a thinner and more space-saving design than existing brands. In response to this strong market demands, Mitsumi has developed industry’s thinnest SD memory card connectors bearing only 26.85mm in width. The new connector plate comes in direct contact with the board in 4 locations for enhanced resistance to EMI/ESD. In addition to this the new connector is equipped with a card detection switch as well as write protect detection switch.
The connector is of push-in, push-out inject type, with length of card ejected is 7.5 mm. The standoff for two models namely CIM-J35N and CIM-J44N are 1.5mm and 0mm respectively. Furthermore, the new design of this connector offers an improved degree of freedom in circuit layouts since the lead portion of the contact terminal and switch terminal are arranged in one row. The new connector features an operating temperature range of -25 to +90 degrees Celsius.
